Job Description

Industrial Spray Painter Berea, KY :

: Mon-Friday Schedule $22-27/hr + Benefits / PTO

JOB SUMMARY

The Industrial Painter will be responsible for maintaining technical equipment for the job and ensuring that the equipment is in working order, possessing a wide array of painting skills including prep, masking, sanding, and liquid paint application utilizing HVLP gravity paint guns, as well as two component proportioning paint systems. This position will require the ability to operate forklifts to move and stage material for the production process.

KEY REPONSIBILITIES

Painting iron & steel castings Cleaning surfaces prior to spray painting Maintaining equipment for the outlined job and ensuring that it always remains in working order Ensuring that high safety standards are met and maintained Adhere to all OSHA and HazMat procedures with respect to the storage and handling of materials in the area Assist in the maintenance of a clean and safe work environment and observe good safety habits Utilizing different painting techniques based on the nature of the surface - both with wet paint and powder coating Using viscosity cups and thickness gauges to measure the amount of paint to be used and the texture of the paint Removing previous paint surfaces using mechanical means Painting small items and doing touch-ups

QUALIFICATIONS

• Driver's License (Required) High school diploma or GED Powder coating experience is a plus

• Certifications for painting or body work or appropriate trade school certification (example-Master Collision Repair ℜfinishing Technician) Preferred Experience painting a variety of surface types Proficiency with technical machinery Physical strength to operate machinery Diligence and attention to detail Excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination Good organizational skills Good verbal communication Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision Ability to troubleshoot paint defects that are outside the allowable QA standards A good problem-solving foundation
