Position Summary The Paint and Finishing Technician is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing signage to meet customer specifications and company quality standards. This role serves as a critical quality control checkpoint in the fabrication process, ensuring finished products are accurate, visually consistent, and production-ready while maintaining safety and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Review work orders and drawings to verify accuracy and customer requirements prior to painting. Prepare, stage, paint, and finish sign jobs using proper techniques and approved safety standards. Inspect finished products to ensure paint quality is free of defects, including runs, debris, missed areas, or inconsistencies. Serve as a quality control checkpoint prior to products moving to the next stage of production. Prioritize daily workload and organize multiple jobs logically to support efficient production flow. Maintain chemical and supply inventory, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and disposal of materials and waste. Keep paint and finishing areas clean, organized, and production-ready at all times. Provide support to other departments and team members as needed. Qualifications Proven experience with industrial painting techniques including powder coating, construction painting surface preparation, and auto painting. Familiarity with coating application methods such as conventional spraying, airless paint spraying, and hand tools for finishing tasks. Mechanical knowledge related to machining processes and the use of precision measuring instruments. Ability to interpret production documents accurately and follow detailed instructions consistently. Warehouse experience or materials handling skills are preferred for efficient workflow management. Basic math skills for measuring coatings and verifying specifications accurately. Knowledge of safety protocols, including PPE use, respiratory protection, and proper handling of hazardous materials. Forklift certification is a plus for moving materials safely within the facility.
Pay:
$18.00 - $30.00 per hour
