Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K Day-to-Day An industrial engineering and automation company specializing in material handling systems, sorting equipment, commissioning, and operational support is seeking a Controls Systems Support Technician to assist with a critical mail processing startup project in St. Louis. This position has opened due to the recent relocation and reinstallation of automated sorting equipment and the need for experienced technicians to provide hands-on operational support during the startup phase. You will work side-by-side with operators, maintenance personnel, and project leadership to ensure newly installed sorting systems operate efficiently with minimal downtime. Unlike traditional controls positions, this role is not focused on PLC programming or software development. Instead, you will serve as the on-site technical resource monitoring system performance, assisting operators with proper package handling procedures, troubleshooting equipment-related issues, and coordinating with maintenance teams when mechanical or operational problems arise. Daily responsibilities include walking the facility floor, observing package flow through automated sortation equipment, assisting operators with equipment functionality, identifying operational bottlenecks, resetting systems after faults, and helping resolve issues such as improperly seated packages that can trigger system alarms. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment and has previous experience supporting automated conveyor or sortation systems. Must-Haves 3+ years of mechanical equipment maintenance, field service, industrial dismantling, or machine repair experience Ability to read equipment diagrams, part lists, assembly drawings, or technical documentation Experience using hand tools, power tools, and mechanical disassembly equipment Strong attention to detail and documentation skills Ability to lift equipment/components and work in an industrial environment Ability to pass background screening and comply with site safety requirements Plusses Experience with mail processing equipment, conveyor systems, or automated package handling systems Previous asset recovery, equipment relocation, decommissioning, or salvage project experience Knowledge of electrical controls, motors, sensors, drives, PLC components, or automation equipment Experience creating inventory reports and tracking recovered assets

OSHA 10, OSHA

30, or other industrial safety certifications Forklift, rigging, or material handling experience
