Assembly Technician Job Description As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling electrical control panels and monitoring systems according to engineering drawings. This includes wiring, labeling, and terminating conductors to terminal blocks and electrical components, as well as performing tasks such as stripping, dressing, routing, and securing wiring using accepted panel shop practices. You will work with various gauge wiring, mount components onto panels, and perform conduit bending, threading, and fabrication tasks. Additionally, you will conduct low-voltage DC testing and troubleshooting using voltmeters and other testing equipment. Responsibilities Assemble electrical control panels and monitoring systems according to engineering drawings. Wire, label, and terminate conductors to terminal blocks and electrical components. Strip, dress, route, and secure wiring using accepted panel shop practices. Work with 12, 14, and 18 gauge wiring. Mount components onto panels using hand tools and power tools. Drill, tap, cut, and fabricate panel components as required. Assemble mechanical and electrical subassemblies for integrated systems. Route and install tubing, conduit, and associated system components. Perform conduit bending, threading, and fabrication tasks. Conduct low-voltage DC testing and troubleshooting using voltmeters and other testing equipment. Assist with calibration, startup, and repair activities. Read and interpret assembly drawings, electrical schematics, blueprints, and operating manuals. Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and vendors to ensure materials and components are available for production. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude and hands-on assembly experience. Experience using hand tools and power tools, including drills, sanders, drill presses, and related shop equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, assembly prints, and electrical schematics. Experience working with terminal blocks and electrical wiring. Understanding of wire stripping, labeling, routing, and termination practices. Comfortable using test equipment such as digital multimeters and voltmeters. Ability to troubleshoot low-voltage DC electrical circuits. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Work Environment You will work on the first shift from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with the option to extend to 5:30 PM if an hour lunch break is desired. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Angier, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $31.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
