JOB SUMMARY

The Industrial Electrical Assembler position is responsible for the layout and assembly of machine control panels, i.e., HMIs, PLCs, and Operator Stations, in addition to on-machine wiring. A successful candidate must be able to independently interpret control schematics and electrical layout drawings, work as part of a team, follow electrical safety standards, and will have the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment that demands critical thinking.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and control panel layouts.
• Layout and cut control panel enclosure holes to mount electrical devices professionally.
• Assemble interconnection wiring between control panel and electrical devices (i.e., prox. sensors, lasers, cameras, I/O blocks, etc.), ensuring precise and reliable connections.
• Review completed work to ensure there are minimal to no mistakes and that the panel and/or machine resembles the completed electrical assembly schematic.
• Label all wiring circuits per electrical control schematics
• Measure and layout wire-way and conduit on machinery for wiring installation.
• Work closely with Engineering teams to identify and address design issues in addition to providing suggestions on how to alleviate any issues.
• Red-Line drawings to document and communicate necessary changes and improvements.
• Collaboratively work with team members and individually to meet production schedules and meet and beat budgets.
• Possess a strong understanding of basic electrical safety standards and practices.
• Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards noticed during the wiring process if required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 1+ years of experience building control panels and/or the installation of on-machine wiring to devices on production machinery or similar experience.
• Proven electrical aptitude using a variety of hand tools and shop equipment.
• Working knowledge of national Electric codes and electrical workplace safety
• Positive attitude and desire for continuous improvement and growth.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematic and control panel layout drawings.
• Strong shop math, measurement skills, attention to detail, and quality.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities
• Lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Work from a kneeling or laying position when required
• Stand for extended periods of time.
• Be able to climb and work from ladders
• Work from an Aerial Lift

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of experience building control panels and/or the installation of on-machine wiring to devices on production machinery or similar experience.

• Common shop equipment (i.e., Pipe bender, Ferrules, Pipe Threader, Drill Press, Power Saw, etc.)
• Overhead crane
• Aerial Lifts, Scissor Lifts, Forklifts
