POSITION SUMMARY

The Electrical Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting electrical components and systems according to engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions. This role supports production goals by ensuring electrical assemblies meet quality, safety, and performance standards.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Assemble electrical and electro-mechanical components, panels, and subassemblies according to schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of material Perform point-to-point wiring, cable routing, and termination of connectors, terminals, and control devices Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and work instructions Test and inspect completed assemblies for proper functionality and compliance with specifications Troubleshoot and diagnose wiring issues, component failures, or assembly errors Use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment such as multimeters and continuity testers Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including test results and rework Follow safety procedures, ESD requirements, and quality standards at all times Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues and improve processes Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S) Experience building control panels or industrial electrical assemblies Familiarity with PLC wiring, VFDs, sensors, and relays IPC/WHMA-A-620 or similar electrical assembly certification Experience working in a lean or continuous improvement environment All other duties as assigned.

Essential Physical Abilities:

Ability to perform sustained physical effort handling, moving loading and unloading components in/on/off pallets containers, crates etc. Ability to work in awkward and strained work positions that require physical agility. Must be able to stand up to 8 hours in a manufacturing environment when assembling parts. Requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity to handle small components and wiring and ability to work with electrical equipment and hand tools. Visual acuity to inspect assemblies and read schematics. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Requirements:
Education and Core Skills:

High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or vocational training preferred 1-3 years of experience in electrical assembly or related manufacturing environment Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams Basic understanding of electrical principles (AC/DC, voltage, current, resistance) Experience using hand tools, crimpers, wire strippers, and electrical test equipment Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Core Values and Beliefs Must be aligned with Core Values and Beliefs that drive UCC's existing corporate culture; People

Compensation and Benefits:
Base Pay Range:

$23 per hour

Other Compensation:

Overtime Eligibility for 1 ½ times per hour for all hours worked over 40 in a week.
