• Job Title: Pumps Assembler
• Job Description
• As a Pumps Assembler, you build and assemble large, high-performance pumps used in fire trucks, supporting the critical work of first responders and firefighters.

You use blueprints, schematics, and a variety of tools and equipment to perform mechanical assembly, fitting, wiring, testing, and inspection. You document defects, help resolve quality issues, and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment.

• Responsibilities
• + Use blueprints, schematics, cross sections, and detailed procedures to assemble large pumps and related sub-assemblies to established quality standards.

+ Perform mechanical assembly, fitting, and wiring as necessary to build a wide range of sub-assemblies and finished products.

+ Install components required to inspect and test products, including connecting, aligning, pressing, fitting, setting, and adjusting for proper clearances and specifications.

+ Use hand tools, power tools, air and hydraulic tools, presses, assembly and test fixtures, measuring and testing instruments, hand trucks, cranes, hoists, and other necessary equipment.

+ Read and understand torque values and procedures, and apply them correctly during assembly and installation.

+ Repair and troubleshoot assemblies and components when required, using sound mechanical judgment and limited instruction.

+ Document defective products on logs and route them to the proper location for review or rework.

+ Identify, communicate, and help resolve quality issues in a timely manner.

+ Communicate production issues promptly and report maintenance and equipment needs to the appropriate personnel.

+ Maintain up-to-date knowledge of module products and interpret prints and work instructions for product builds.

+ Perform panel assembly and modules/customs assembly as required.

+ Detect and correct errors in assembly, making repairs and adjustments as needed to ensure products pass inspection.

+ Clean and make minor repairs to assembly equipment and tools as needed.

+ Store and place tools, parts, and equipment in proper locations to keep the assembly area free of clutter, clean, and in orderly condition.

+ Maintain a safe and tidy work environment consistent with 6S principles and an orientation toward quality and safety.

+ Report supply needs in a timely manner to ensure required supply levels are maintained.

+ Transport products, test components, and other equipment to designated work areas, including removing test components from all types of pumps as required.

+ Work effectively in a team environment, maintain regular attendance, and be able to work overtime based on business needs.

+ Work well under pressure while meeting production, quality, and safety expectations.

• Essential Skills
• + Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform assembly, fitting, and basic wiring.

+ 1-5 years of manufacturing and assembly experience preferred.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, torque values, and written and verbal instructions.

+ Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, air and hydraulic tools, presses, assembly and test fixtures, measuring and testing instruments, and other related equipment.

+ Experience operating cranes, hoists, hand lift trucks, and similar material-handling equipment.

+ Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and a quality-focused mindset.

+ Ability to identify, document, and help resolve quality issues and defective products.

+ Capability to repair and troubleshoot assemblies and components when required.

+ Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain regular, reliable attendance.

+ Ability to work well under pressure while meeting production and safety requirements.

+ Orientation toward maintaining a safe work environment and following 6S principles.

+ Ability to communicate production, safety, maintenance, and equipment issues in a timely manner.

• Additional Skills & Qualifications
• + Modules and customs assembly experience preferred.

+ Experience with pneumatics and mechanical assembly is beneficial.

+ Ability to use measuring tape and other precision measuring tools accurately.

+ Comfort working from general instructions and acceptable mechanical practices with limited supervision.

+ Ability to independently install components using sound mechanical judgment.

+ Experience documenting defects and maintaining logs in a manufacturing setting.

+ Ability to maintain up-to-date product knowledge for various pump modules.

+ Strong organizational habits and commitment to keeping the work area clean and orderly.

• Work Environment
• This role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing plant.

You work at a dedicated assembly station equipped with the tools, parts, and equipment required to perform your tasks efficiently and safely. The environment follows 6S principles, emphasizing cleanliness, organization, and safety. Standard hours are first shift, Monday through Friday, typically 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with current operations running 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and some Saturdays for overtime as business needs arise. You work with mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical components using hand tools, power tools, presses, cranes, hoists, test fixtures, and measuring instruments in a structured, production-focused setting.

• This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ocala, FL.
• Pay and Benefits
• The pay range for this position is $18.

00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
