Full-time Company Overview Summit Dental Systems is a growing manufacturer of dental equipment dedicated to producing high-quality products that help dental professionals provide efficient and effective patient care. We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Mechanical Assembler to join our manufacturing team. This position plays an important role in the production of our dental equipment and requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship. Position Summary The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling mechanical components and finished products according to engineering specifications, drawings, work instructions, and company quality standards. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with hand and power tools, reading mechanical drawings and schematics, using precision measuring instruments, and identifying and communicating assembly or quality issues. Ability to work independently while also collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and other team members. The position requires using production software and applications, following documented manufacturing processes, and complying with the company's
ISO 13485
procedures and quality requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished dental equipment according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions. Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, assembly instructions, and other technical documentation. Use hand tools, power tools, and other assembly equipment safely and effectively. Use precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers, to verify dimensions and assembly accuracy. Perform quality inspections throughout the assembly process to ensure products meet company standards and specifications. Identify, document, and communicate assembly issues, material problems, or discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor or Engineering team. Assist Engineering with troubleshooting mechanical assembly issues and implementing approved solutions. Perform rework or adjustments as necessary to bring assemblies into specification. Follow established manufacturing processes, procedures, and quality requirements. Maintain accurate production and quality documentation as required. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company safety procedures. Properly maintain and care for tools, equipment, and measuring instruments. Work collaboratively with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to meet production schedules and quality objectives. Assist with training and mentoring new team members on assembly procedures, proper tool use, and quality expectations. Perform other manufacturing and assembly duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Mechanical assembly experience or demonstrated mechanical aptitude. Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions. Experience using hand tools and power tools. Ability to use basic measuring instruments such as calipers and tape measures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Preferred Previous experience as a Mechanical Assembler, Manufacturing Assembler, or similar position. Experience using micrometers and other precision measuring instruments. Experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience working with dental, medical, laboratory, or other precision equipment. Basic knowledge of welding, soldering, machining, or fabrication. Experience working from detailed engineering drawings and bills of materials. Previous experience training or mentoring other employees. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and work at an assembly station for extended periods. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and repeatedly. Ability to lift and move components and equipment as required for the position. Ability to perform repetitive assembly tasks while maintaining accuracy and quality. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment when necessary.
