We are located in Altamont, NY, and are looking to hire a full-time Electro-Mechanical Assembler to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an organized and detail-oriented individual who values customer service and has experience in a manufacturing environment. We are located in Altamont, NY, and are looking to hire a full-time Electro-Mechanical Assembler to join our team. This position could work on the regular day shift from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. or on the 2nd shift which would include a 10% shift differential.
Assembler Job Summary:
Met Weld is looking to fill an Electrical and Mechanical Assembler position that requires Soldering and Assembly experience with a willingness to learn. Candidate must be willing to learn, have an electro-mechanical aptitude, ask questions, and adapt to completing different projects in a timely manner. Required to have the ability to understand engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and work instructions.
Assembler Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assembler must read and understand production drawings, assembly instructions, work orders, and sample assemblies. Must also be able to receive verbal instructions regarding duty assignments. Assembler crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place. Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on chassis panel or printed wiring boards. Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device. Connects component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points. Manufactures cables and wiring harnesses using copper wire, co-axial cable, twin-axial cable, and fiber-optic cable. Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets. Assembles and attaches hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches, to assemblies. Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color-coding parts and assemblies. Performs online inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
Experience:
1 - 3 years of Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Soldering experience required.
