Electric Motor Winder / Motor Rewind Technician Industrial AC/DC Motors | Full-Time | Reading, PA Hourly pay Based on Experience + Overtime + Excellent Benefits Experienced Motor Winders Wanted and electric motor repair technicians BDS Service Division is expanding and is looking for an experienced Electric Motor Winder / Motor Rewind Technician/ Motor Repair Technician to join our growing team. We repair industrial electric motors for manufacturers, utilities, municipalities, and industrial facilities throughout Pennsylvania and the surrounding region. Our shop repairs everything from fractional horsepower motors to large industrial AC, DC, and medium-voltage motors. If you have experience rewinding motors and are looking for a stable company that values quality workmanship, provides modern equipment, and offers long-term career growth, we'd like to meet you. What You'll Do Strip, rewind, and rebuild AC and DC electric motors. Record winding data and duplicate original winding configurations. Manufacture and install coils. Install slot insulation, wedges, phase insulation, and lacing. Connect and terminate stator windings. Perform dip-and-bake or VPI varnishing processes.
Test motors using:
Surge Testing Hi-Pot Testing Insulation Resistance (Megger) Resistance Testing Continuity Testing Disassemble and assemble industrial motors. Replace bearings and inspect shafts, rotors, stators, and end bells. Assist with troubleshooting electrical failures. Maintain repair documentation and quality records. QualificationsRequired Minimum 3 years of electric motor winding experience. Experience rewinding industrial AC motors. Ability to read winding diagrams and electrical schematics. Strong mechanical aptitude. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred DC motor winding experience. Medium-voltage motor experience. Form coil experience. Random wound motor experience. Servo motor repair experience. Dynamic balancing experience. Generator repair experience. Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts. Why Work at BDS?
