Responsibilities Operate CNC laser cutting machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, plasma cutters, press brake machines, stamping presses, and other fabrication equipment with precision and safety. Set up machinery by installing tooling, calibrating equipment, and programming CNC machines based on technical drawings and blueprints. Interpret mechanical blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications to produce accurate parts. Perform quality inspections using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools to ensure parts meet strict quality standards. Maintain safety standards by adhering to safety protocols during machine operation and handling materials like sheet metal and fabricated components. Conduct routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime. Assist in assembly processes by fitting fabricated parts together according to specifications and ensuring proper alignment. Skills Proficiency in operating fabrication machinery including CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brakes, stamping presses, welding equipment, forming machines, and electrical discharge machining tools. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately. Skilled in using measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision tools for quality control. Knowledge of shop math principles necessary for machining calculations and measurements. Ability to set up machining tools correctly and perform tooling adjustments as needed for different projects. Familiarity with safety standards in manufacturing environments including proper handling of sheet metal and use of hand tools. Experience with crane operation for material handling when necessary. Basic understanding of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes and sheet metal fabrication techniques. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality inspection and measurement accuracy during fabrication processes.
