Prep Technician / Junior Finisher - Custom Cabinetry SOLLeSOLUTIONS -

PM Start Date:
ASAP SOLLeSOLUTIONS is growing our manufacturing team in Kyle, Texas, and we are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Prep Technician / Junior Finisher to join our custom cabinetry finishing department. This is a hands-on shop position focused primarily on sanding, surface preparation, quality control, and preparing custom cabinetry components for finishing. Previous professional spraying experience is NOT required. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in automotive paint prep, furniture finishing, woodworking, cabinet manufacturing, marine finishing, or another detail-oriented surface preparation environment who wants to develop their skills in high-end custom cabinetry finishing.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Operate sanding machinery and automated sanding equipment Hand sand cabinet doors, panels, moldings, and other custom components Prepare surfaces for primer, paint, stain, and clear finishes Inspect parts carefully for scratches, defects, glue residue, imperfections, and other issues before finishing Sand and prepare components between finishing stages Mask and protect components as required Load and unload parts from automated and robotic finishing equipment Assist experienced finishers with production and quality control Perform basic touch-ups and repairs as your skills develop Handle finished and unfinished components carefully to prevent damage Maintain a clean and organized finishing area Follow established production, safety, and quality-control procedures Work closely with our finishing and manufacturing teams
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in sanding, surface preparation, paint preparation, woodworking, cabinetry, furniture, or a related trade Strong attention to detail - this is extremely important Ability to recognize surface imperfections and understand when a part is properly prepared for finishing Comfortable performing repetitive, detail-oriented work while maintaining consistent quality Experience using hand sanders and/or industrial sanding equipment is preferred Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a professional production team Willingness to learn and develop new finishing skills Ability to safely lift and handle cabinetry components Ability to work safely around machinery and finishing equipment
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
We welcome applicants with backgrounds in: Custom cabinetry or millwork Furniture manufacturing or finishing Automotive body and paint preparation Automotive refinishing Marine finishing Aerospace paint preparation Woodworking Professional surface preparation Automotive experience can be particularly relevant for this position. Candidates who understand proper sanding, surface preparation, masking, cleanliness, and identifying imperfections are encouraged to apply even if they have never sprayed cabinetry.
CAREER GROWTH
This position is intended to provide a path into professional custom cabinetry finishing. As your skills develop, you will have the opportunity to learn additional aspects of our finishing process, including touch-ups, repairs, coating systems, spray application, and operation of our automated finishing equipment. Employees who demonstrate strong attention to detail, reliability, craftsmanship, and the ability to learn may progress from Prep Technician / Junior Finisher into a Custom Cabinetry Finisher position.
COMPENSATION & EMPLOYMENT
Starting salary: $45,000 per year Higher starting compensation may be considered based on relevant experience W-2 employment 60-day trial period as per company policy Annual performance review with the potential for salary adjustment based on performance and development
