Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Horticulture Technician and play a vital role in cultivating the highest quality of Cannabis in Alaska. This position offers the opportunity to work at our indoor facility, applying your horticultural expertise to maintain and improve our gardens. Responsibilities include the watering, pruning, defoliating of our cannabis plants, as well as the labor involved in all phases of growth, including but not limited to cloning, planting and harvesting. •Opportunity for cross training in retail a possibility Duties Assist with cloning, planting, transplanting, pruning, and maintaining a variety of our proprietary cannabis genetics using hand tools and power tools. Operate irrigation systems efficiently to ensure proper watering schedules for different garden plots in addition to hand watering depending on garden plot. Maintain environments by monitoring temperature, humidity, and lighting conditions to support healthy plant growth while aligning with ideal VPD metrics for all phases of growth. Movement of materials from different areas of our 2 story facility, including growing mediums, various substrates, beneficial nutrients and construction materials with the ability to lift and carry 40 plus pounds. Compliance with Alaska METRC including the tagging and proper recording of plants within their State required grow timelines Assist with minor installations around the operation, including pumps, fans, heaters and all other associated environmental control hardware. Experience Prior experience working with irrigation systems, greenhouse management, or landscape maintenance is highly desirable. Hands-on experience with gardening techniques, growing plants indoors or outdoors, or farming practices is preferred. Familiarity with horticulture principles including plant health care and soil management is beneficial. Ability to operate power tools Ability to operate high output water hoses Experience working with hand tools in outdoor or greenhouse settings; strong attention to safety standards. Previous roles in Cannabis Cultivation and or Cannabis Retail Must be able to acquire both Municipal Food Handlers card in addition to an Alaska Marijuana Handlers Permit Training is available to those willing to learn a new craft who take pride in their mastery of a new skill. Handyman skills, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and etc. are highly valued in the facility and factor into compensation
