Job Summary The R&D Engineering group at Haartz is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated individual to join our team as an R&D Technician, Level 2! New ideas, new technologies and new ways of thinking are driving our future! If you are looking to start a new career not just find a job, this is the right job for you! This position is full-time, working Monday through Friday on-site in Acton, MA, 7:30am to 3:30pm. Interested applicants must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule, depending on the needs of the business, some evening hours may be required. Overtime is paid after 8 hours worked in a day. As an R&D Technician you will be responsible for providing general support to R&D Engineers. Setting up and operating a wide variety of R&D processing equipment. Preparing experimental samples, tests samples, preparing rolls for coatings trials, and evaluating data to determine quality and reliability of new products. Represent Haartz with customers and suppliers. Successful candidates will be self-motivated, able to problem solve and make decisions with limited supervision. They will have strong troubleshooting skills and be detail oriented with excellent communication, organizational and time management skills. A strong work ethic, flexibility and ability to work in a team environment are a must! Job Duties and Responsibilities Ability to multi-task and work independently with limited supervision. Computer and ERP system experience required. Knowledge of Microsoft software is preferred. Ability to communicate problems and production status. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees. Work closely with Manufacturing to prepare raw materials for sample runs. Set up and operate a wide variety of R&D processing equipment. Perform tests at specified states in production, process and end use quality. Ability to learn new equipment and processes. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Lead by example in adherence to quality systems, CARES core values (Collaboration, Appreciation, Respect, Enthusiasm, Sustainability), and organizational procedures. Work safely and in accordance with all quality, safety, and environmental standards. Skills and Qualifications Required o High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one-year related experience and training o Or equivalent combination of education and experience o Experience in a technical role Preferred o Higher education is a plus o Experience working in Manufacturing or similar industry strongly preferred Why Join The Haartz Team?
