Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and optimization of the production of composite tubes Fabricates, cures carbon fiber composite tubes. Builds laminated assemblies in a filament winding operation, apply composite, plastic and metal parts and adhesives onto tools or molds. Troubleshoot equipment, monitor process parameters, adjust equipment settings as needed to obtain parts that meet customer drawings and internal requirements. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings Set up spray booths to apply etching and primer compound to tubes Load/unload winding machine mandrels into oven, run cure cycles Pull mandrels from composite structure (de-mold) Operate compression test machine to verify proof loads Run daily production quantities Recognize and report all operational variances as trained Ability to use a computer and database to download work instructions Basic knowledge in using precision measuring tools, i.e. micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, etc.
Required Experience & Skills:
High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing and processing of advanced composite materials preferred Ability to interact and communicate as part of a highly functioning team Must be able to read, write and speak English Ability to obtain BATF approval to work with our products. •Note• : Due to US Export Control laws and regulations; applicants selected for employment must show proof of a U.S. Person status before employment may begin.
