Bakersfield, CA Job Details Full-time $17 - $20 an hour 18 hours ago Qualifications Interpersonal skills Writing skills Basic math High school diploma or GED Mechanical fittings Pumping systems Hand tools Machine minor repairs Boiler operation Full Job Description The Asphalt Batch Operator position requires the type of performance to maintain our day to day operations and periodically assist in minor maintenance duties.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain manual logs of day to day operations
- Operate and maintain the steam boiler.
- Operate and maintain the box cabin heater.
- Top gauging tanks using the innage and outage method.
- Charging and testing batches.
- Pumping and transferring processed and raw materials.
- Loading and unloading bulk trucks of raw and processed materials.
- Product testing using ASTM standards.
- Assist the welder in minor maintenance duties.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Must pass Pre Employment Physical and Drug ScreenPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Good physical mobility and capabilities.
Posture/Movements Required :
Stooping/bending, climbing stairs, reaching forward, reaching above shoulders, reaching below shoulders, wrist turning, body twisting, walking and standing.Hand Manipulation :
Good Hand/Eye coordination. Firm grasping power and fine manipulation is required. Hand tools are used for making machine adjustments and pens/pencils are used for writing.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Two years prior experience working on pumps, boilers, heaters, tanks, plug valves, butterfly valves and pipe fittings, gate valves and ball valves.
- Must be proficient in the use of hand tools.
OTHER KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to accept and follow verbal and written instructions and work independently to keep duty areas functional.
- Promote Team player abilities and skills.
