•Compton Operations, Compton, California Position Summary Founded in 1968, Continental Forge Company developed a reputation for precision aluminum forgings and machined components serving military and commercial aerospace customers. Continental Forge joined Forged Solutions Group (FSG) in December 2022 and now operates as FSG

•Compton Operations . We are seeking a Press Operator to set up and operate heavy-duty hydraulic presses that bend, straighten, stretch, and forge aluminum parts. The successful candidate will follow work instructions, handle heated dies and workpieces safely, inspect completed work, and maintain accurate production records. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Position and secure dies to the press bolster plates, moving platen, or bed. Heat dies and workpieces to the required temperature and monitor temperatures throughout the production run. Adjust press controls to establish the required ram pressure. Lubricate dies and workpieces as required. Lift and position workpieces between dies using approved methods and equipment. Operate the press to bend, straighten, stretch, or forge workpieces according to job requirements. Remove finished workpieces from the dies and inspect them for size and visible defects. Complete statistical process control (SPC) charts, identify bins or containers, and sign off on job travelers as operations are completed. Follow applicable work instructions, quality requirements, and safety procedures. Report equipment problems, unsafe conditions, and quality concerns to the supervisor. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. One to three months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and follow work instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers. Basic math skills, including the ability to use measurements required for the job. Ability to work safely around heavy machinery, heated materials, and moving parts. Reliable attendance and the ability to work cooperatively with the press room team. Physical Demands and Work Environment This position regularly requires standing; frequently requires walking, handling materials, and reaching with the hands and arms; and occasionally requires talking or hearing. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. The role requires close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. Occasional exposure may include wet or humid conditions, airborne particles or fumes, chemicals, and outdoor weather. The work environment is usually very loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
