Job Summary Quantum Staffing Inc. is seeking an experienced Deburring Inspector Lead for an aerospace manufacturing environment in Valencia, CA. This position is responsible for overseeing deburring and lapping operations, inspecting precision-machined aerospace components, ensuring work is completed according to blueprints and work instructions, and supporting production efficiency and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong precision deburring experience, blueprint-reading skills, inspection experience, and prior lead or supervisory experience. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities Oversee deburring and lapping activities to help ensure jobs are completed accurately and on schedule. Review dispatch reports and monitor production progress. Identify and communicate production delays, quality concerns, and other issues to management. Deburr a variety of precision-machined aerospace components according to blueprints, work orders, and established procedures. Train and mentor new team members and Deburr Technicians on proper deburring techniques, requirements, and processes. Develop and implement deburring aids and specialized tooling as needed. Assist with establishing cycle times, process improvements, and identifying fixture requirements. Inspect critical dimensions to ensure components meet blueprint specifications. Perform visual and dimensional inspections of finished hardware. Assess potential nonconformances before beginning the deburring process. Evaluate product requirements independently and determine appropriate inspection and processing methods. Utilize a variety of precision inspection equipment, including micrometers, bore gages, height gages, optical equipment, and other measuring tools. Record inspection and job results accurately using ERP and quality-related software. Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation. Apply knowledge of raw materials, castings, forgings, internal and external threads, and related inspection requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 6S principles. Follow all applicable safety, quality, and company procedures. Perform basic mathematical calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, decimals, rates, ratios, and percentages. Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by department management. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 3-5 years of precision deburring experience. Previous lead, senior-level, or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Experience working with aerospace components or other precision-machined parts strongly preferred. Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, work orders, safety procedures, and technical instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions regarding product requirements and inspection. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively train, mentor, and communicate with team members. Basic computer skills, including Windows and internet-based applications. Experience working with ERP or inventory management systems. Strong understanding of precision inspection methods and equipment. Technical & Inspection Skills Experience with some or all of the following inspection equipment and processes is highly desirable: Micrometers Bore gages Inside micrometers Height gages Profilometers Optical and digital comparators Concentricity gages Drop indicators Deltronic pins Air gages Thread gages Johnson gages Radius gages Borescopes Microscopes Blueprint reading Precision dimensional inspection Internal and external thread inspection ERP/quality software Language Skills Good command of the English language, both written and spoken. Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, procedures, and technical documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and production personnel. Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: Stand, sit, and walk for extended periods. Frequently reach, handle objects, type, and communicate verbally. Lift, push, and pull up to 10 lbs. frequently. Occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs. Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or work in various physical positions. Work with small precision components requiring close visual inspection. Occasionally perform tasks involving climbing, balancing, or heavier lifting as needed. Work Environment The position is performed in a manufacturing/machine shop environment with potential exposure to: Mechanical equipment and moving parts Metal components and airborne particles Manufacturing fumes and chemicals Moderate to loud noise Vibration Industrial equipment Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety procedures must be followed at all times.
