This position is responsible for grinding, deburring, sanding, polishing, and finishing metallic formed fittings and flanges used in critical plumbing and piping systems for U.S. submarine and defense applications. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing environment, understand the importance of precision and quality, and be able to work safely in a fast-paced production setting. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Grind, deburr, polish, and finish metallic formed fittings, flanges, and machined components Remove excess material, burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections Operate hand grinders, belt sanders, pneumatic tools, polishing equipment, and other finishing tools Read and follow blueprints, work instructions, and production travelers Inspect parts to ensure quality standards and customer specifications are met Use measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges as needed Maintain proper identification and handling of parts throughout the production process Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements Maintain a clean and organized work area Work closely with machinists, welders, quality inspectors, and supervisors to meet production goals Assist in other production areas as needed Other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred Previous experience in grinding, deburring, polishing, fabrication, or metal finishing preferred Experience working with stainless steel, copper nickel, bronze, or other alloys is a plus Ability to read blueprints and follow manufacturing instructions Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds Dependable with good attendance and willingness to work overtime when required Preferred Skills Manufacturing or machine shop experience Experience working with precision or tight tolerance components Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or 5S principles Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus
