First Shift - M-TH 5am - 3:30p Job Requirements Experience and knowledge of die cast (or plastic injection mold) processes including the function of the die, gates, runners and venting systems. Work from written process sheet to perform any die casting and/or trim machine operation, and visual inspection of parts for cast defects. Load metal ingot into pre-heater or furnace. Must be capable of operating a hydraulic trim press to remove excess metal from a casted part as defined in the work instruction. It may be necessary to manually remove gates and runners as defined in work instruction. Inspect parts as required to insure product quality, according to work instruction. Die Cast Operator and Trim Operator work as a Team to support each other in the production of good quality parts to meet standards. Maintain clean and orderly work area. Maintain safe work environment. All other duties as assigned Basic Requirements Basic Math skills required Strive to improve process to continually increase production and improve quality. Shall continually attend training to keep up with technology and safety requirements. Ensure and adhere to safe work practices and procedures. Positive attitude, willingness to constantly improve, and lead others to do the same. Must be willing to embrace new technology and change. Must have good communication skills. Must be able to read and understand written directives. Must have an excellent attendance record. General This is a physically demanding position requiring moderately heavy lifting, dexterity and good mechanical skills. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs repetitively. Must be able to stand for 10 hour shift. Michigan Driver License is required.
