Kings Mountain International is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Precision Grinding Operator to join our third shift manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating precision grinding equipment used to produce steel plates to customer-specified thickness, flatness, and surface-finish requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with manufacturing or machining experience who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in producing quality products, and wants to develop additional technical skills.

What You'll Do:

Set up and operate precision grinding equipment in accordance with established work instructions and customer requirements. Select and install appropriate grinding belts and adjust machine settings, including belt tension, tracking, oscillation, table stroke, and operating speed. Monitor the grinding process to maintain required plate thickness, flatness, and surface finish. Use precision measuring tools to verify product dimensions and conformance to customer specifications. Inspect work throughout the process and accurately document production and quality information. Operate jib and overhead cranes to safely position and move steel plates. Record production time and material usage using a tablet. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Work cooperatively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to meet safety, quality, and production objectives. Perform other related duties as assigned and trained.

What We're Looking For:

High school diploma or GED preferred Manufacturing experience preferred; machining or grinding experience is a plus. Ability to use or learn precision measuring equipment. Basic computer/tablet skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Dependable attendance and willingness to learn. Ability to follow safety procedures and established work instructions. Ability to work effectively as part of a manufacturing team.

Physical and Work Requirements:

This is a hands-on manufacturing position requiring regular standing , walking, reaching, and movement throughout the shift. Employees may occasionally lift or move materials weighing up to 75 pounds and will use material-handling equipment for larger steel plates. The manufacturing environment is not climate-controlled, and employees may be exposed to seasonal heat and cold, industrial noise, and normal manufacturing conditions. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required and most is provided based on the task being performed. This is a safety-sensitive position.

AM, Sunday-Thursday Compensation:

$17.75-$18.50 per hour based on experience and qualifications. Additional Shift Premium is $1.00/hour.
