AMADA CNC
turret and laser machines to punch and cut aluminum, steel, and stainless steel to achieve specified results while adhering to internal and customer-driven quality standards and scheduling requirements. 2 year degree or 2 years relevant experience
Demonstrated competency in basic hand and power tool usage Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions
Ability to program CNC turret and laser using
AMADA AP100
Strong math skills, including fractions, decimals, and metric conversions
Ability to use standard measuring tools, hand tools and material handling equipment commonly used in metal manufacturing
Must be proficient in math and able to competently apply it in the production process
Ability to read and interpret drawings, engineering specifications and work instructions to determine machine setup, production methods and sequence of operations Essential Functions
Run punching operations using standard and custom punches
Operate laser to cut metal to specifications
Check material blank type, thickness, length, and width
Select proper punches and dies based on material thickness and type
Set up tooling, load programs, and set machine parameters
Perform inspections of parts; check height, depth, and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, and other precision-measuring instruments
Produce the first piece of a product in a run, inspect the piece by using standard measuring tools and then finish the production run maintaining quality standards throughout the run
Read drawings
Use a CNC controller to input information into laser and turret machines
Program new parts that meet specifications
Use shear to cut metal sheets to required size
Work with tight tolerances
Monitor and evaluate machine operation; troubleshoot production problems and their causes and take appropriate corrective action
Report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to the supervisor
Maintain necessary records and workflow processes
Meet customer specifications and delivery requirements
Complete and maintain production and quality paperwork
Performs all required routine and minor maintenance activities according to procedure
Other duties as assigned Physical Demands Must be able to routinely stand, sit, stoop, twist and bend.
Must be able to stay on feet for most of the work day. Must be able to lift 0 - 50 pounds frequently; 50 - 75 pounds, occasionally. Visual acuity required for reading machine controls, written material, and drawings, and to inspect parts to ensure they meet specifications. Hearing ability sufficient to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action. Work Environment Environment is a sheet metal fabrication shop. Worker will be subject to high noise levels and exposed to heavy machinery. Worker may be exposed to dust, fumes, and airborne particles. Sheet metal can cause cuts and lacerations. Metal is highly conductive of thermal energy. Burns are possible when metal is exposed to open flames or a heat source. Inhaling sheet metal dust can increase the chances of respiratory illness. Exposure to oil and grease is possible. Machinery such as turrets, lasers, press brakes, shears, saws, and mills can cause bodily harm in the event of improper operation or malfunction.
