Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shear Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting incoming sheet metal skids, using a micrometer or caliper to verify material thickness, operating a forklift to move skids of sheet metal to your workstation, and using a shear to cut metal according to customer specifications. The Shear Operator will also help maintain accurate sheet metal inventory records and support overall shop organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic manufacturing environment where safety, efficiency, and craftsmanship are valued. Shift 1st Shift (6:00am - 2:30pm) Monday - Friday Responsibilities Operate shear machines and related equipment to cut sheet metal accurately. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine cutting requirements. Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, precision measuring instruments, and visual checks to ensure parts meet specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols. Safely operate forklifts to move sheet metal from unloading bay to work station. Help maintain accurate sheet metal inventory records and support overall shop organization. Requirements Prior experience operating a forklift. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Prior experience using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments for quality inspection. Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations during setup and inspection processes. We're an equal opportunity employer. Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
