Job Description

Job Overview Local retail jeweler seeking an experienced bench jeweler for immediate employment. Third generation, 60+ year old company with excellent reputation and very competitive benefits. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bench Jeweler to join our dynamic retail jewelry store and repair team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting, repairing, and refining jewelry pieces with precision and craftsmanship. Your expertise will ensure that each piece meets our high standards of quality and artistry. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of metals and gemstones, utilizing advanced fabrication techniques to bring beautiful jewelry designs to life. The ideal candidate will be passionate about jewelry making, possess strong mechanical skills, and adhere strictly to safety protocols. Responsibilities Perform detailed jewelry repairs, including soldering, stone setting, polishing, and cleaning to restore or enhance pieces. Fabricate custom jewelry components using hand tools, power tools, and various welding techniques such as
TIG, MIG, FCAW
(Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Polishing, finishing and examining the integrity of each finished repair. Utilize sheet metal fabrication techniques including cutting, bending with press brake machines, and forming metal sheets into desired shapes. Maintain a safe working environment by following all safety protocols related to metalworking equipment, gas welding, plasma cutting, pipe threading, ductwork, machining, soldering, and other fabrication processes. Requirements Proven experience in jewelry fabrication or a related mechanical shop environment with hands-on use of hand tools and power tools. Strong knowledge of welding techniques including TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and gas metal arc welding. Familiarity with measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers for precise craftsmanship. Mechanical knowledge of metal materials used in jewelry making such as gold, silver, platinum, or other alloys. Understanding of safety protocols related to welding operations and handling of power tools. Basic math skills necessary for shop math calculations involved in fabrication tasks. Strong attention to detail combined with excellent hand-eye coordination. Prior experience working in a fabrication shop or jewelry manufacturing environment required. Pay:
