$25.00 - $35.00 per hour (Dependent on Experience) Job Summary Are you a skilled CNC Setup Machinist who takes pride in owning a machine and making precision parts? We are a fast-growing precision shop moving into a new facility in Apple Valley, CA in about 30 days. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented CNC Mill Setup Machinist to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our lead programmer to review job requirements, then take full control—setting up the machine, hand-editing code if needed, proving out programs safely, and producing high-quality parts. We run a mix of prototype, short-run, and production jobs on everything from Brother and Haas mills up to VF-9 and VF-11 large-envelope machines. Independently set up, prove out, and run jobs on 3-axis and 4-axis CNC mills. Hand-edit G-code directly at the machine control when required. Manage workholding setup, tool selection, clearances, stick-out, and offset touch-offs. Inspect your own parts to blueprint specifications. Maintain careful focus during program prove-out to protect tooling and equipment.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

3+ years of CNC mill setup experience (Haas and/or Brother preferred). Ability to set up and prove out new programs independently. Strong understanding of workholding, tooling selection, and offset adjustments. Ability to read engineering drawings/prints and inspect your own work. Experience hand-editing G-code at the control. Strong work ethic, clean habits, organized workspace, and excellent attendance. Preferred (Bonus Skills): 5-axis CNC machining experience Large-envelope mill experience (Haas VF-9, VF-11, etc.) CAM software or CAD/CAM programming knowledge Work Setting & Culture Skills can be taught, but attitude and dependability are key.
