City of Irwindale Summary:
In this position, the CNC Operator is responsible for operating CNC equipment to manufacture parts that meet print. This includes making offset changes or consumable tool changes when needed. The operator will also be responsible for properly measuring parts. In addition, the operator will be responsible to deburr and wash parts.
Duties & Functions:
Basic operation and multiple
CNC Machines:
Touch off tools when consumables are changed Change out consumable tools (ex. drills, end mills, inserts) Make tool offset changes to ensure parts are to print Perform weekly preventative maintenance on the machine shop equipment by oiling, greasing, and making sure they are working properly Monitor workflow to assure quality by following written procedures Understand G & M codes, troubleshoot code for issues Install/ maintain commonly changed components and tools Perform full basic CNC set ups on machines and ability to set up jobs on CNC Lathes
machine brands used : (Fanuc/Haas Controller)
Requirements:
Strong verbal & written communication skills Lathe Precision Measuring Live tooling 5axis + 4axis Experience Drills End mills Previously worked in Piping Company preferred Blueprint reading/ understanding Strong math skills for inputting specific dimensions and figures into the CNC machinery Strong computer skills as CNC Operators use computer software to control machinery Understanding of how the machine works to maintain the machinery for which they are responsible and ensure it functions properly
