In this role, you will operate, set up, and program CNC machines—including lathes and milling centers—using advanced CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software. Your expertise in machining tools, blueprint reading, and measurement will ensure the delivery of parts that meet strict quality standards. Duties Set up CNC machines such as CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring proper tooling, fixtures, and calibration for each job. Program CNC equipment using G-code, M-code, CNC programming languages, Mazatrol controls, and CAM software to produce precise parts. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining sequences. Operate manual machining tools including grinders, calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments for quality control. Conduct precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring instruments to verify part dimensions against specifications. Perform machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments to optimize performance while adhering to lean manufacturing principles. Inspect finished parts for quality compliance using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards and coordinate with quality assurance teams for final approval. Requirements Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines and CNC lathes with proficiency in CNC G-code programming and CNC programming languages. Strong knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks, CAD software) and CAM programming to develop toolpaths for complex components. Ability to read mechanical blueprints accurately and interpret technical drawings with an understanding of mechanical blueprint interpretation. Familiarity with machining tools including grinders, hand tools, power tools, tooling setups, and measurement instruments like micrometers and calipers. Mechanical knowledge encompassing metal machining processes such as milling, turning, grinding, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and manual machining techniques. Understanding of M-code commands used in CNC programming for machine control functions. Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feeds & speeds necessary for precision manufacturing. Experience with measurement (quality control) techniques ensuring parts meet specifications through precision measurement instruments. Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards.
