Full-time, direct hire About the Opportunity Evolve1Talent is recruiting an experienced 5-Axis CNC Machinist for a long-term client operating from a modern manufacturing facility in Livermore. You will independently set up and operate 5-axis CNC milling machines to produce complex, close-tolerance components for medical device, aerospace and industrial applications. The work includes prototypes, one-off parts, and short production runs rather than repetitive high-volume production. Prototype machining experience is highly preferred; however, qualified 5-axis setup machinists from other precision-manufacturing environments are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Independently set up and operate 5-axis CNC milling machines Machine prototypes, one-off parts and short-run components Complete tooling, workholding, offsets and setup adjustments Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and GD&T Inspect completed parts using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators and other precision measuring tools Make program edits and adjustments using G-code and M-code Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup and quality issues Machine aluminum, steel, stainless steel, copper and plastics Document machine setups and inspection results Perform occasional manual mill or lathe work as needed Qualifications Three or more years of hands-on 5-axis CNC milling experience Ability to independently complete machine setups and inspect your own work Strong blueprint-reading, GD&T and precision-measurement skills Experience working with tight tolerances Understanding of G-code and M-code Mastercam or comparable CAM experience preferred Prototype, one-off, or short-run machining experience is a strong plus, but not required Haas and manual mill or lathe experience are helpful but not required Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills This position requires independent setup experience and is not limited to loading parts and operating preconfigured machines.
