Job Description

CNC Lathe Setup Machinist

  • Fanuc / Mill-Turn AmeriBrade LLC Oak Hills, CA Job Details Full-time $30
  • $40 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Qualifications Mechanical blueprint interpretation Machine setup Equipment setup (production tasks) Software troubleshooting Tooling Machining fixtures Machine troubleshooting Machining tool setup Equipment troubleshooting Parts drawings CNC G-code Programming Equipment adjustment (production tasks) Production troubleshooting Full Job Description CNC Lathe Setup Machinist•Fanuc / Mill-Turn $30•40/hr | Full-Time | Immediate Opening We're looking for an experienced CNC lathe machinist who can set up machines, get parts running, and make good parts to print without a lot of hand-holding.

This is NOT an operator position. You'll currently be the primary lathe machinist in the shop , so we're looking for someone who likes having ownership of their area. We're growing quickly, adding equipment and moving into a larger building, so there are plenty of opportunities for this position to grow with us. What you need to know

  • Fanuc controls
  • Takisawa CNC lathes
  • 2-axis turning
  • Live tooling / mill-turn
  • Sub-spindle work
  • Gantry-loaded production lathes
  • Complete machine setups
  • Tooling, offsets, jaws and workholding
  • Reading prints and inspecting your own parts
  • Troubleshooting setups and processes
  • Comfortable editing G-code by hand at the control We have a programmer who handles most programming and the more complicated multi-axis work.

You won't be expected to CAM program everything from scratch, but you need to understand the code and be very comfortable editing and troubleshooting programs at the machine. Our work is roughly 50% production and 50% prototype/short-run , so one day you may be dialing in a production job and the next setting up something we've never made before. Who we're looking for Attitude and personality matter to us just as much as experience. We're a small, fast-moving shop. We need someone who takes ownership, communicates well, solves problems and keeps things moving. You won't have someone standing over your shoulder telling you what to do all day. If you like being trusted with a job, figuring out what needs to happen, and getting good parts out the door, you'll probably fit in well here.
