In this role, you will operate manual machining equipment to produce precision metal components according to detailed blueprints and specifications. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude who thrive in a hands-on environment, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess solid technical skills, a keen eye for measurement, and a passion for manufacturing excellence. Duties Set up and operate manual machining tools such as lathes, grinders, and hand tools to produce metal parts with precision. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately, applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles. Measure finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications. Perform machine setup, calibration, and adjustments to maintain optimal machining performance. Inspect parts during and after machining for quality assurance, utilizing measurement tools and visual inspection techniques. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and lean manufacturing practices. Collaborate with team members on tooling selection, machine maintenance, and process improvements to enhance productivity. Experience Proven experience operating manual machining equipment such as lathes, or mills in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of blueprint reading and mechanical blueprint interpretation. Familiarity with measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, and precision gauges. Knowledge of basic math skills necessary for machining calculations and measurements. Experience with mechanical blueprint interpretation and the use of GD&T standards. Ability to perform machine setup, calibration, and basic troubleshooting on manual machines. Prior exposure to lean manufacturing principles and safety standards within a metalworking or manufacturing setting is preferred. Pay:
$30.00 - $48.00 per hour Expected hours: 16.0 - 34.0 per week
