Formweld Fitting, Inc is a pipe fitting manufacturer serving several industries, including the petrochemical and mining sectors. Our staff fabricates, to standard specification, wrought steel pipe fittings to customers on demand. To support customer needs, we are looking for dependable and adaptable manufacturing personnel to join our production team in our
MACHINE SHOP DEPARTMENT
to operate lathes to cut and process 3/16" to 1" thick metal. The ideal candidate is reliable, flexible, and able to perform in a fast-paced environment. Candidates MUST also be accurate with a tape measure down to 1/16" of a inch.
Pay:
Starting at $21-23 per hour , based on relevant experience

Friday Daily Shift:
02:30PM-08:30PM (Training will have you start during our day shift)
Lathe Operator Key Responsibilities:
Safely and efficiently operate equipment and presses according to company standards. Take on additional production-related tasks as assigned to support workflow and minimize downtime. Accurately log work hours and job progress using the computer-based time clock system. Complete assigned work within estimated time frames while maintaining quality standards. Report equipment, safety, or production concerns promptly. Assist with setup, cleanup, and general production duties as needed. Use accurate measuring and guided math formulae to trim product. Use tape measure for accurate measuring down to 1/16th of an inch. Use digital calipers/micrometers to measure down to 1/100th of an inch. Use hoists and clamps to move parts from floor-to-machine. Operate lathes precisely and safely to trim parts to size and cut bevels. Assist with "ringing" parts - a process of hammering carbon rings into ends of product to ensure roundness.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment. Position requires flexibility to support both direct production needs and overflow tasks.
Qualifications:
Completed GED or High School Diploma - REQUIRED Previous experience in manufacturing/fabrication setting - REQUIRED . Basic computer knowledge required (logging time, task tracking, basic digital tools). Strong work ethic with the ability to adapt and take initiative. Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions. Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Physically able to stand, bend, lift, and move materials as required. Required Skills for
Lathe Operator:
Read, write, and speak English. Demonstrate ability to read tape measure down to a 1/16th of an inch. Be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs. Be able and willing to swing up to 20lbs sledgehammers. Able to work in various temperatures (our production building is not climate-controlled: it is hot during hot months and cold during cold months).
