In this role, you will be responsible for operating and setting up manual machining equipment to produce precision metal components. Your expertise in reading blueprints, interpreting mechanical drawings, and utilizing various machining tools will be essential to ensure the highest quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex manufacturing projects, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and craftsmanship to deliver exceptional results. Duties Operate manual machining equipment such as lathes, grinders, and milling machines to produce parts according to detailed specifications. Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing instructions accurately. Set up and calibrate machines, including tool selection, tooling adjustments, and machine alignment for optimal performance. Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators to ensure parts meet strict quality standards. Perform basic math calculations for measurements, tolerances, and machining parameters to maintain precision. Conduct quality inspections during and after machining processes using measurement tools and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols; assist with assembly tasks when required. Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements and troubleshooting machining issues efficiently. Qualifications Proven experience in manual machining with a solid understanding of machining tools, measurement instruments, and mechanical blueprint interpretation. Proficiency in reading technical drawings and understanding manufacturing specifications. Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in metal machining processes such as turning, milling, grinding, and boring. Experience with CNC programming (G-code) is a plus but not mandatory; familiarity with CNC lathe/milling machines is beneficial. Skilled in using measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments for quality control. Knowledge of M-code programming for machine control is advantageous; experience with Mazatrol controls is a plus. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for measurements and tolerances. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on precision measurement in machining operations. Mechanical aptitude combined with strong problem-solving skills; ability to interpret mechanical blueprints effectively.
