$35.00-$40.00/hour (some flexibility based on experience)

Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO and Holiday Pay Sterling Engineering is seeking a Manual Machinist to support a well-established organization in the apparatus repair industry. This role works with minimal supervision to set up and operate manually controlled metalworking machines used to fabricate, repair, and modify equipment, parts, and tooling. This is a hands-on position ideal for an experienced machinist who takes pride in precision, craftsmanship, and quality workmanship. ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate manual metalworking equipment to repair, fabricate, and modify parts and toolingRead and interpret blueprints, sketches, and equipment manualsSelect, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, and materials safely and accuratelyPerform precision measurements using micrometers, dial indicators, and related instrumentsAccurately estimate the time and materials required for jobsComplete required documentation and company records thoroughly and accuratelyPerform daily cleaning and light maintenance of machinery and equipmentFollow all company safety policies and procedures and wear the required PPEMaintain a clean, organized, and orderly work areaCommunicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and customersProvide occasional after-hours service support as neededEnsure completed work meets or exceeds customer, company, and quality standards QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required5-7 years of hands-on manual machining experienceAbility to read, write, and communicate fluently in EnglishStrong understanding of industrial mechanical equipmentProficient with manual engine lathes, vertical milling machines, drill presses, saws (vertical and horizontal), hydraulic presses, broaches, and grinders
