$34.20/hour + Benefits Summary Work directly for a Lake County, Indiana steel processing plant where you"ll play an important role maintaining tooling, machining equipment, and plant operations. This is an opportunity for an experienced Manual Machinist with Tool & Die expertise to take on a hands-on position supporting production and equipment reliability. Job Duties & Responsibilities Set up and operate manual machine shop equipment, including lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and drill presses, to machine die components and other parts. Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot roll-form tooling, cut-off dies, pre-pierce dies, stamping dies, and other production tooling. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical equipment using blueprints, schematics, manuals, precision measuring instruments, and hand/power tools. Perform preventive maintenance, equipment installation and repairs, inventory activities, and coordinate with production and engineering on equipment needs. Required Skills & Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Journeyman Tool & Die Certification. 5-7 years of related machining, tooling, or maintenance experience. Ability to read blueprints and operate traditional machine shop equipment, including lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and drill presses. Preferred Skills & Experience Documented industrial maintenance training. Welding certification or hands-on welding experience.
