Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Lathe Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will operate and set up CNC (Computer Numerical Control) lathes and manual lathes to produce precision metal components. Your expertise in machining, blueprint reading, and measurement will ensure high-quality outputs that meet strict specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining tools, contribute to manufacturing excellence, and develop your technical skills in a dynamic environment. Duties Set up and operate CNC lathe machines, including programming with G-code and M-code commands to produce complex parts accurately. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models using SolidWorks and CAD software to determine machining requirements. Perform machine calibration, tool changes, and adjustments to optimize machining processes for precision and efficiency. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other measurement instruments to verify part dimensions during and after machining. Execute manual machining tasks when necessary, utilizing hand tools, grinders, power tools, and machining tools for fine-tuning or finishing parts. Read and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) specifications to ensure parts meet quality standards. Maintain detailed records of machine setups, measurements, inspection results, and production logs for quality control purposes. Troubleshoot machine issues promptly, perform routine maintenance, and ensure safety protocols are followed at all times. Experience Proven experience operating CNC lathes in a manufacturing or metalworking environment. Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code for lathe operations. Experience with CNC milling machines, grinders, and other machining equipment is a plus. Ability to read mechanical blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately. Mechanical knowledge of machining tools, measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers), and precision measurement techniques. Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances required for machining tasks. Understanding of manufacturing processes including CNC programming, manual machining, assembly, and quality inspection procedures. Prior experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or general blueprint reading skills is preferred. Join our team as a Lathe Operator if you are passionate about precision manufacturing! Bring your technical expertise into a collaborative environment where your skills directly impact product quality and operational success. We value safety, craftsmanship, continuous learning, and dedication—qualities that drive excellence in everything we do!
