Position Summary:

The CNC Machinist programs, sets up, and operates 3 axis CNC Vertical Mills to produce precision aluminum and plastic components in a clean, climate-controlled facility that produces food and medical grade products.

Job Responsibilities:

Generate CNC programs from CAD models using CAD/CAM software. Set up, operate and program CNC Vertical milling machines along with toolroom equipment to efficiently produce high quality, consistent in-house tooling and precision parts. Manage cutting tools and tooling inventory. Collaborate with engineering and production teams on design improvements to support quality, manufacturability, and efficiency. Responsible for general cleanliness and safety of workspace and the shop/tooling area. Maintain compliance to all Good Manufacturing Practices, ISO, and company quality standards. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications Two-year technical Degree or 3+ years of experience in a CNC or tooling shop, preferred. Strong focus on quality, precision, and attention to detail. Able to work independently with minimal training or supervision. Must have advanced knowledge of CNC machine use and practice. Must be able to fully use and operate all manual tool room machinery and equipment. Possess advanced knowledge in the use of machine cutting tools and current cutting tool technology. Advanced knowledge and experience in the use of CAD/CAM software including "GIBBS" and "CamWorks". Advanced CAD/CAM surfacing, 5-axis and 3D programming knowledge, capability, and skills. Advanced drawing and print reading skills. Knowledge of 3D printing and understanding set up and run process. Must be able to read and understand work instructions in English. Ability to promote and follow safe workplace practices. Must have an aptitude for critical thinking and improvement creativity and willing to offer feedback and ideas.

Physical Requirements:

Lifting of up to 40 pounds frequently, and up to 75 pounds occasionally. Frequently reaching, grabbing, twisting and bending. Standing for extended periods of time. Extended periods of concentration while safely operating machinery. This position is considered safety-sensitive, as it involves operating heavy machinery in a manufacturing environment. Employees must maintain full cognitive and physical ability to perform tasks safely.
