Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sinker EDM Operator for both 1st and 2nd shifts to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating sinker electrical discharge machines (EDM) to produce precision metal components. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining high-quality standards and efficient production processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about advanced manufacturing techniques and precision machining. Duties Set up and operate sinker EDM machines, ensuring accurate machining of complex metal parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. Program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) sinker EDM equipment using CAD/CAM software, including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CAM programming tools. Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure precise machining operations. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on EDM equipment to maximize uptime and productivity. Measure finished parts using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and other measurement tools to verify conformance with quality standards. Adjust machine parameters and tooling setups for optimal performance; utilize manual machining skills with hand tools, grinders, and milling machines when necessary. Collaborate with team members on tooling fabrication, CNC lathe/milling machine operations, and fabrication projects to meet production goals efficiently. Requirements Proven experience operating sinker EDM machines in a manufacturing environment with a strong understanding of electrical discharge machining processes. Proficiency in CNC programming and setup using CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools. Solid knowledge of mechanical blueprint interpretation, GD&T principles, shop math, and precision measurement instruments including micrometers and calipers. Familiarity with plastics injection molding processes is a plus but not required. Experience with metal machining techniques including grinding, welding, milling, lathe work, and manual machining methods. Ability to read schematics, electrical diagrams, and shop drawings accurately; experience with schematics is preferred. Mechanical knowledge combined with shop math skills necessary for tool & die work, fabrication, and tooling adjustments. Strong troubleshooting skills related to CNC machinery maintenance (MRO), repair procedures, and electrical systems. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality control using precision measuring instruments; ability to work efficiently on both first and second shifts. Join our team where innovation meets craftsmanship! We are dedicated to fostering a collaborative environment that values your expertise in advanced manufacturing processes while providing opportunities for growth in a fast-paced industry.
