Manual Machinist T&S Manufacturing dba Heavy Hitch is looking to fill the role of a Manual Machinist . We are seeking a dependable, skilled individual who takes pride in producing quality work in a manufacturing environment. The responsibilities and qualifications below represent our ideal candidate. However, we will consider candidates who may not meet every qualification but have sufficient experience, mechanical aptitude, talent, and willingness to learn. Responsibilities and Duties Set up and operate manual machining and fabrication equipment, including drill presses, saws, mills, and other shop equipment Perform machining operations according to blueprints, specifications, and work instructions Select and use proper tooling, workholding, and inspection equipment for assigned jobs Demonstrate a working knowledge of the manufacturing processes necessary to complete assigned tasks within the production schedule Inspect parts throughout the manufacturing process to ensure they meet required dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards Make necessary machine and setup adjustments to maintain part quality Maintain minimal scrap and rework on manufactured parts Communicate manufacturing processes, production concerns, and quality issues with peers and supervisors Perform basic machine maintenance and keep machines and work areas clean and organized Assist with CNC machining and other fabrication processes as needed Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment Perform other manufacturing and fabrication duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of machining experience required Ability to set up and operate at least two machining or fabrication processes, such as drill presses, saws, manual mills, or CNC mills, while meeting established quality and efficiency standards Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications Ability to manufacture parts that meet design requirements using proper tooling, machine setup, and operating procedures Ability to use inspection and precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges Good mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity Ability to perform basic fabrication processes Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work Safety and quality focused Shows individual initiative Honest and trustworthy Positive attitude Accountable and dependable Respectful toward coworkers, supervisors, equipment, and the workplace Willingness and ability to learn additional machining and fabrication processes Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Ability to stand for 8+ hours Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements Ability to safely handle materials, tooling, and finished parts Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around machinery, metal chips, noise, and other typical shop conditions
