Abel Machine is accepting applications for a 1st shift machinists to fill immediate openings in our mill and lathe department. In business for over 20 years, we are a growing machine shop located in Holden, Missouri and have become known in the industry for our quality production. An ideal candidate would have 5 years of experience in machining with the ability to program and set up CNC mills and/or lathes. We are willing to train programming for the right candidate that can demonstrate the ability to independently machine parts. Candidates with a positive outlook, careful attention to detail, and creative problem-solving skills that are ready to work in a clean, team environment should apply. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits. Job Overview:
We are seeking CNC Machinists to join our team. As a CNC Machinist you will be responsible for setting up and operating computer-controlled machines to perform precision machining.
Duties:
Program, set up and operate CNC mill machines to fabricate parts according to specifications
Read and interpret blueprints, engineered drawings, and job orders
Select appropriate tools, attachments, and materials for each job
Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and make adjustments as needed
Inspect finished products for quality control and make any necessary adjustments
Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance
Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals
Skills:
Proficient in operating CNC machines and related equipment
Knowledge of tooling, including the use of various cutting tools and inserts
Familiarity with quality control processes and procedures
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job orders
Experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
Proficient in using hand tools for fabrication purposes
Knowledge of machining principles, including milling, drilling, and turning operations
