CNC Machinist 2nd shift

Job Description

Summary/Objective The CNC machinist sets up and operates computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts. The CNC machinist sets up the machine to specifications based on prints, loads parts and operates the machine, cycles machine and detects malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools. The position runs production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding productions runs, and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Performs all assigned CNC setup and operation, as well as required shop operations. Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures. Regularly performs milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing and sanding tasks. Performs inspection of machined products, and documents results. Completes and maintains paperwork for parts. Assists in other work areas to perform fabrication, lay-up, infiltration, and may be required to operate multiple machines simultaneously, based on cycle times. Competencies Communication Proficiency Initiative & Safety Conscious Mathematical Skills Technical Capacity Time Management Organized Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 1 st shift - 7:00am to 3:30pm, OR, if working second shift - 3:30pm to midnight, 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required based on business needs. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred Education and Experience Two (2) years of factory/manufacturing experience with blaster or similar equipment.
