Acting as the lead on the shop floor, this position provides technical mentorship and guidance to CNC and manual operators, ensuring that all quality benchmarks, production timelines, and delivery schedules are consistently met. In collaboration with the Value Stream Supervisor and various departments, this role focuses on removing production obstacles, fostering continuous improvement, and upholding
ISO 9001
standards. By modeling professional accountability, the lead helps cultivate a highly capable and motivated machining workforce. Core Responsibilities Guide team members to boost overall output and help formulate weekly staffing plans to ensure all production goals are achieved. Oversee daily staff activities and contribute to the documentation and assessment of employee performance. Facilitate daily management routines to empower the team to resolve roadblocks and maintain production momentum. Manage and mitigate workflow disruptions to restore normal production flow within the assembly cell. Champion lean manufacturing principles and support the execution of standard work procedures. Report any faulty operations or defective materials to the Quality Department or Supervisor to assist in rapid resolution. Act as a primary technical subject matter expert for machining processes, tooling, and setup troubleshooting. Provide hands-on support to operators and technicians to help resolve complex production and tooling challenges. Drive improvements in machine utilization and process flow to increase overall efficiency. Ensure that machining best practices are consistently applied to maintain high standards across the value stream. Engage in improvement initiatives and master new procedures to facilitate effective team training. Maintain a culture of safety and excellence by adhering to all company procedures and attendance policies. Perform additional tasks as required by the business. Qualifications Minimum of 2-3 years of professional CNC machining experience. Working knowledge of CNC M-codes and G-codes. Proficiency in operating precision measurement tools and CNC machinery. Mandatory experience with Haas Controllers. Background in quality assurance is considered an asset. 2ND
