CNC Machinist -

Westfield, NY Pay:

$22.46 - $28.07 per hour

Schedule:

40 hours per week; must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team in Westfield, NY. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of CNC machining and setup experience , strong mechanical and technical skills, and the ability to read and follow work instructions. The selected candidate will train on 1st shift initially before transitioning to either 2nd or 3rd shift . This is a union environment, and shift assignments are based on seniority.

Responsibilities:

Set up and operate CNC and other machine tools to produce precision parts. Machine parts to specifications using lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other equipment. Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machining operations. Measure and inspect completed parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers. Read and follow blueprints, work instructions, and specifications. Make machine adjustments as needed to maintain quality and production standards. Monitor machines during operation and identify potential problems or malfunctions. Perform basic troubleshooting and notify appropriate personnel when repairs or adjustments are needed. Lay out, measure, and mark materials for machining operations. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow all company safety and quality procedures.

Requirements:

At least 2 years of CNC machining experience required. Previous CNC machine setup experience required. High school diploma or equivalent. Mechanically and technically inclined. Basic math skills. Ability to use precision measuring tools. Reliable and dependable attendance. Willingness to learn and follow directions. Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift after completing initial 1st-shift training . Must be willing to work any shift as required by the union/seniority system. Must successfully complete a physical and drug screen prior to starting.

Schedule:

Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week. Initial training will be on 1st shift. After training, the position will transition to 2nd or 3rd shift . Shift selection/assignment is based on union seniority.
