Description:

CNC Machinist Job Description Lead and oversee daily operations within the 5-axis machining department in a job shop environment. Perform between one and four CNC machine set-ups per shift, ensuring efficient and accurate changeovers. Program CNC machines using Mastercam, including creating, modifying, and optimizing toolpaths for milling operations. Work with G and M codes to adjust and refine machine programs as needed during production. Maintain and machine parts to tight tolerances within ±0.001 inches, ensuring consistent quality and precision. Operate CNC mills and lathes to produce parts and molds according to blueprints and specifications. Work with plastics to create molds and other components, following proper machining practices for these materials. Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to set up and machine parts accurately. Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to inspect and verify part dimensions. Perform own set-ups on CNC equipment, including tooling selection, fixture setup, and program loading. Operate and support machining on Haas and other CNC equipment as required. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. At least 5 years of CNC mill and lathe machining experience. Proficiency in programming with Mastercam for CNC machining operations. Experience working in a job shop environment with varied and custom work. Demonstrated ability to perform own CNC machine set-ups independently. Strong knowledge of CNC milling and turning processes, including 5-axis machining. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Why Work Here? The position is on third shift, running from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday, offering a four-day workweek. This is a direct placement position with an additional 7% shift differential for third shift. The setting is a traditional job shop focused on machining plastics and metal components, with an emphasis on safety, precision, and efficient production. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Fremont, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr.
