Job Description

R D CNC Machinist Do you have years of experience as a CNC Machinist, Mold Maker or Tool & Die and looking for a unique opportunity in our Development Center in Medina, Oh? Are you ready to be a part of something new and innovative? Then this is the role you are looking for. As a CNC Machinist you will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machines to produce Extrusion tooling, Blow molds and Blow molding tooling, precision parts and instruments. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools, Quality equipment, Production tooling etc, and applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. Our Development Center in Medina, Oh is a lead innovator in blow molding machine builds and product development of containers for top consumer brands. In this role, you will contribute to Plastipak's high quality standards and positive team culture.

You Will CNC program editing required, program creation required using MasterCam Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and measuring instruments. Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on metal stock for machining. Sets up and operates machine tools such as manual lathes, milling machines and grinders, to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications. CNC Milling machines like the Haas, Fadal, Hermle and DMU as well as CNC Lathes like the Haas, Okuma Howa and Mori Seiki. Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process, making adjustments as necessary. Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers, indicators, gauge blocks, Starrett CMM machine, Mitutoyo Quick Scope and Optical Comparator CNC You Have High school diploma / general education degree (GED) is required. Trade school, vocational education and minimum 3 years work experience preferred. Proficient machining capabilities Mechanically inclined Strong Attention to Detail.
