Now in our 7th year with a team of 45+, we're a premier vendor of tooling and components for advanced aerospace programs — precision work that contributes to the future of flight and exploration. We're hiring an experienced Machinist to set up and operate manual and CNC equipment, producing precision parts to exacting aerospace tolerances. Glance Equipment:
manual and CNC mills, lathes, and related equipment. Experience with a Proto
TRAK CNC
mill or a Doosan 5700 / Fanuc 10M controller is a plus.
Autonomy:
plan, program, and execute complex, high-precision jobs independently, with minimal supervision.
Mentorship:
serve as a technical resource for less experienced machinists. What You'll Do Set up and operate equipment: run manual and CNC mills, lathes, and related equipment — including programming, tool selection, and offsets — to produce precision parts from raw stock through to finished product. Read blueprints and
GD&T:
interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T callouts to determine machining sequence, tooling, and setup requirements.
Hold tight tolerances:
perform in-process and final inspection with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM as applicable) to meet aerospace tolerances and specifications.
Program and improve:
write, edit, and optimize CNC programs, and identify and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time and scrap while maintaining quality.
Manage tooling and equipment:
select tooling and fixtures for each job, and perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
Mentor the team:
serve as a technical resource for less experienced machinists, sharing best practices and troubleshooting techniques. Keep the floor safe and compliant: follow safety protocols, maintain a clean and organized work area, and ensure compliance with applicable quality and regulatory standards.
What You Bring Experience:
5+ years of hands-on experience in a machine shop environment, with a strong track record of running complex, high-precision jobs independently.
Equipment mastery:
expert-level ability to set up and operate manual and CNC mills, lathes, and related equipment to produce high-quality, tight-tolerance parts. Blueprint and GD&T fluency: strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
Programming:
proficiency with relevant CAD/CAM and CNC programming software.
Technical depth:
in-depth knowledge of machining processes, materials, and related technical concepts.
Industry background:
experience in aerospace or other high-tolerance/regulated manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
Work style:
strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
