Job Description

CNC Setup Machinist (Precision Machining) - 1st Shift Are you a highly skilled CNC machinist who prides yourself on quality and workmanship? Do you enjoy collaborating with engineering to define and improve processes? CompuCraft Fabricators is seeking a CNC Setup Machinist who thrives in a culture dedicated to quality, precision, and continuous improvement. Position Overview In this role, you will not just run parts; you will own the manufacturing process. You will actively collaborate with our engineering team on initial process definition, identifying the optimal workflows, tooling, and fixturing for complex, tight-tolerance components. Key Responsibilities
    Collaborate & Define :
    Work closely with engineering to evaluate blueprints, define manufacturing processes, and optimize cycle times.
      Program & Edit :
      Create, interpret, and modify CNC programs (Mastercam programming experience a plus) offline and at the machine to ensure flawless execution.
        Setup & Prove Out :
        Perform complete, complex setups on CNC mills and CNC lathes, establishing precise fixture alignment, tool offsets, work coordinates.
          Operate & Inspect :
          Run production lots while performing rigorous in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, indicators and functional gauges to verify total conformance to print specifications.
            Job Documentation :
            Interact with ERP system for time records, maintain program library and complete quality documentation, as required.
              Continuous Improvement :
              Troubleshoot processes and suggest innovative fixturing or machining strategies to eliminate waste, improve throughput and elevate quality. Qualifications
              • Proven experience programming, setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes in a precision, job shop environment.
              • Strong blueprint reading skills and knowledge of GD&T.
              • Deep knowledge of cutting tool selection, speeds, feeds, and material (stainless steels, aerospace alloys, aluminum, etc.).
              • A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills for Engineering and Quality team touchpoints.
              • An uncompromising eye for detail and pride in workmanship.

              $26.00 - $35.50 per hour
