Summary:
Perform tasks directly related to the machining of graphite, silicon carbides, and other specialty materials.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Work is job oriented, following detailed blueprints, customer specifications, and internal work instructions; Operate hand tools, precision measuring equipment, and computers, (desktop and machine control varieties) Operate powered machine tools such as vertical CNC mills, manual and CNC lathes, surface and centerless grinders, cup grinders, bandsaws, and other machining equipment; Perform machine setups and/or operate equipment that is setup by more skilled operators; Complete machining tasks within a customer job; Routinely perform initial setup on new parts;. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing guidelines to consistently produce high-quality products. May be tasked with preventative maintenance and housekeeping duties. Qualifications (Education, Training, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Physical Requirements): High School Diploma or equivalent; Possess math and precision measurement skills and able to read machine drawings; Possess advanced knowledge of machining methods; Astute attention to detail to drive Safety and Quality; Ability to perform visual checks and handle materials responsibly while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); Work any shift as required to meet business needs; Experience in working in an
ISO 9000/14000
environment a plus; Candidate must have the capacity to comply with the federally mandated requirements of U.S. export control laws. Physical Requirements Completion of pre-employment physical required Physical requirements of the job include: o Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. as needed. o Capability to ascend and descend ladders using a three-point grip. o Frequent tasks will include squatting, kneeling, bending, reaching, and standing. o Occasional work may be required in confined workspaces. o Ability to perform hand squeezes requiring force up to 30 lbs. o Performing repetitive tasks or motions for extended periods. o Maintaining balance and coordination, especially when working on elevated platforms or in areas with uneven surfaces. o Capability to perform physically demanding tasks over extended periods, often in varying environmental conditions (e.g., hot, cold, or humid environments). o Adequate visual acuity to perform detailed inspections or precision work.
