In this role, you will operate and set up various machining equipment to produce precision metal parts that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in CNC machining, manual machining, and blueprint interpretation will be essential in delivering high-quality components efficiently. The ideal candidate is proactive, safety-conscious, and passionate about craftsmanship, ready to contribute to a dynamic production environment that values precision and innovation. Duties Operate CNC machines such as CNC lathes and milling machines, including Fanuc-controlled equipment, ensuring accurate programming with G-code and M-code commands. Set up machining tools, fixtures, and tooling to prepare for production runs while adhering to safety protocols. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings using GD&T standards to ensure precise manufacturing specifications are met. Perform CNC programming using CAM software and SolidWorks or CAD for custom part designs. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and other measurement instruments for quality control purposes. Maintain machine calibration through routine inspections and adjustments to uphold manufacturing standards. Perform manual machining operations such as grinding, turning on lathes, or using hand tools when necessary to achieve desired tolerances. Assist in machine setup and changeovers efficiently to maximize production throughput while minimizing downtime. Conduct quality inspections on finished parts utilizing measurement tools and visual inspection techniques to ensure compliance with specifications. Support lean manufacturing initiatives by maintaining organized workstations and adhering to best practices for efficiency. Skills Proficiency in CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code; experience with Fanuc controls is a plus. Strong understanding of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, GD&T principles, and measurement techniques for quality assurance. Knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, CAD programs, and CAM programming for part design and toolpath creation. Experience operating CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, grinders, and manual machining tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, power tools, and hand tools. Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and troubleshoot machining issues effectively. Familiarity with metal machining processes including CNC G-code programming, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and precision measurement in manufacturing environments. Ability to perform machine setup efficiently while maintaining safety standards; experience with machine calibration is advantageous. Basic math skills necessary for precise measurement calculations and part dimension verification. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to promote continuous improvement within the production process.
