CNC Lathe & Mill Setup Machinist Location:

Montgomery, TX 77316

Pay:

$27-$32/hr DOE (up to $33/hr for the right experience) We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to independently set up and operate both CNC lathes and CNC mills. This is not an entry-level operator position. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC lathes and CNC mills. Set tooling, work offsets, tool offsets, and zero points. Read and interpret blueprints, dimensions, tolerances, and machining symbols. Verify programs and make basic offset/program edits as needed. Select proper tooling, speeds, and feeds. Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, thread gauges, and other precision measuring tools. Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and dimensional issues. Complete production and repair/rework machining. Requirements Proven experience setting up CNC lathes and CNC mills without constant supervision. Strong blueprint reading and shop math skills. Experience holding close tolerances and producing quality parts. Ability to identify and correct tooling, setup, and dimensional issues. Dependable with strong attention to detail. Ability to occasionally operate a manual lathe. Preferred Experience Fanuc controls. Internal and external threading. Oilfield, valve, wellhead, or industrial machining. Large or irregular parts. Basic CNC program editing. Production and one-off repair work.
