Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Lathe Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate, set up, and program CNC lathes to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in machining processes, blueprint reading, and technical troubleshooting will be essential to ensure efficient production and continuous improvement. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced equipment and contribute to innovative manufacturing solutions in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Operate CNC lathe machines, including Fanuc-controlled systems, to produce complex parts with high precision. Program CNC lathes using CNC programming languages and CAM software to optimize machining processes. Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing. Set up tooling, fixtures, and workpieces accurately using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines. Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues related to electrical discharge machining (EDM), tooling wear, or machine malfunctions. Apply lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality in production workflows. Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools for assembly or minor repairs as needed. Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, inspection reports, and quality control records. Support continuous improvement initiatives by collaborating with engineering teams on tooling design using SolidWorks or CAD software. Experience Proven experience operating CNC lathes with a strong understanding of CNC programming languages such as G-code or Fanuc controls. Demonstrated knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings in a manufacturing setting. Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), CAM programming, and the use of CAD software like SolidWorks or other design tools. Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as plastics injection molding or assembly is a plus. Ability to work safely with power tools, hand tools, tooling setups, forklifts, and welding equipment. Strong math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and dimensions. Mechanical aptitude combined with a proactive approach to troubleshooting machine issues quickly and effectively.
